In response to the devastation of Hurricane Katrina, Solid Rock Carpenters (SRC) formed in 2005 to offer opportunities for people from all backgrounds and skill levels to volunteer for rebuilding projects providing shelter for people in need. Over the past 14 years, more than 4,700 volunteers have supported SRCs mission of Building Homes and Bringing Hope to the underserved. SRC has been active in planning outreach programs locally, nationally and internationally - hosting 18 Framing Day Events, many local building projects and directly involved in the building of 50 new homes on 58 organized trips.
