ReNew Communities is partnering again with Solid Rock Carpenters to raise the exterior walls, roof, and interior wall frames on 4 new Matthew Homes in one day!
Prep Day - Saturday, Sept 9th - 8am - 4pm.
Big Build Event - Saturday, Sept 16th - 8am - 4pm.
We are looking for experienced and skilled volunteers willing to work one or both days.
NOTE: When you register, the home page states Sept 9 as the sole date. However, you can select your availability for one or both days within the registration form.
Many of you worked with us on the 2022 Projects or even this past June 2023 Big Build. This will be a similar event - we will be spread across 4 different work sites in North Chicago, IL.

Prep Day (9/9) To Do List:
- Cutting lumber
- Stapling tyvek to the top and bottom plates
- Organizing lumber
- Building gable ends
- Assembling wall components

Framing Day (9/16) Details:
Each site will have one Street Shop Crew and one Deck Crew who will work together with the goal being a fully framed home by the end of the day!
Street Shop Crew:
- Build interior walls
- Crew will be made up of 20-25 new or less experienced volunteers per site

Deck Crew: (Those receiving this email are invited to be part of this crew)
- Build and raise exterior walls
- Raise interior walls
- Install trusses and sheath roof (if time allows)
*Note: Each of the 4 deck crews will have no more than 15 volunteers. So sign up today if you're available and interested! A waitlist will be generated if we surpass this limit.
